In 1971, in the heart of the Canadian prairies, Roy and Pat Sangster had a simple but powerful dream — to help people live healthier, more vibrant lives. With nothing but vision, grit, and an unshakable belief in the power of natural wellness, they founded Sangster’s, a small family-run health store offering high-quality vitamins and herbal supplements.

Over the years, that little store grew into something extraordinary.

From a single location to over 45 Sangster’s Health Centres across Canada, and from one product to a full line of more than 350 natural supplements, Roy and Pat’s vision became a trusted Canadian brand. Sangster’s became a symbol of integrity, quality, and care — known not just for its products, but for its people and purpose.

For countless families, visiting a Sangster’s store wasn’t just a transaction — it was a moment of connection, trust, and support on the journey to better health.

In 2004, after decades of service, Roy and Pat sold the business. Their legacy lived on, carried by the name that had become synonymous with natural wellness across Canada.

But the Sangster’s story was far from over.

In 2010, their son, Darryl Sangster, bought the Sangster’s brand back — motivated by purpose and a deep respect for what his parents had built. Having grown up in the stores and behind the counter, Darryl knew exactly what Sangster’s meant to customers and communities. He honoured the family legacy, modernized the brand, and led it into a new era.

In 2017, Darryl sold the business — but the heart never truly let go. Now more than ever, at a time when the world is looking for authenticity, trust, and health-focused values, Darryl bought Sangster’s again, for a 2nd time, and brought it home once again.
